A quick guide to your options
How do you feel about the pregnancy?

There are a few things you can do from now to protect yourself and the baby:
Consult your family doctor or GP to make an appointment and discuss your pregnancy
Start taking Folic Acid (10mg daily). This vitamin helps protect you and the baby.
Be sure to avoid alcohol and smoking.

Being pregnant and having a baby is a big deal, but it doesn’t have to be scary!
The first thing you should do is grab a pen and piece of paper or use the notes on your phone.
We want you to take some time and list your passions, strengths and qualities - if you’re struggling, grab a friend or family member and ask them what they think!

Parent
This involves carrying the pregnancy to full term (40 weeks) and delivering a baby.
You can receive support from the government, your local council and many organisations which help support happy and safe families.

Adoption/ Fostering
This involves carrying the pregnancy to full term but after birth, the child will be entrusted to an adoptive or foster family.
You can decide beforehand how much (or how little) involvement you would like in the child’s life after this point.

Abort
This involves ending the pregnancy either medically (through pills) or surgically (a procedure to remove the fetus).
You should familiarise yourself with all the potential risks involved with either procedure so you can best prepare.
