1. Are you pregnant?
If confirmed ‘YES’ go to box 4
2. Have you had sex or partial sex or maybe had sex when on drugs or alcohol within the past 4 months?
(Remember: contraceptives can fail)?
If ‘Yes’ - go to box 3.
3. If ‘Yes’ - pregnancy is possible. Have you done a pregnancy test? $2 or £1.50 from a pharmacy?
If ‘Yes’ - go to box 4.

If the pregnancy test is positive this is a reliable result- go to box 5.
If negative…repeat in 2 days If you cannot do a pregnancy test? Then, go to box 6
5. So you have a positive pregnancy test or feelings of pregnancy?
If Yes and you have abdominal or belly pain – please try to see a doctor today to rule-out the risk of "ectopic pregnancy." If you have no abdominal pain go to box 7.
6. If you cannot do a pregnancy test:
Do you feel sick, have breast changes or mood swings? If ‘Yes,’ - then you may be pregnant. Go to box 5.
7. Pregnancy confirmed
What was the date of your last menstrual period (LMP)? Let's say it was, "November 30". On that day your embryo was about 2 weeks old. He or she is male or female and is about the size and shape of this letter O. "Implantation" happened a week ago, as she/he sinks deeper into the side of your womb. Your LMP gives you your "pregnancy dates" which is always 2 weeks less than the actual age of the embryo or fetus. To find the age of the pregnancy and embryo, count weeks from your LMP to now.

8. Example of pregnancy dates
suppose you are 4 weeks from your LMP; this means the new embryo is 4 weeks + 2 weeks = 6 weeks old. Pregnant and happy? If ‘Yes’ Congratulations!! Start Folic acid vitamin 10 mg every day to protect the baby. Avoid alcohol and smoking. If, ‘Not sure’ or ‘Definitely unhappy,’ read on…
